The Future

20 years from now cars might fly by,

The simple life I want.

You will come home and my expression will show

My content, as I will be glad about where life has taken us,

A future of insecurities where it’s only you and me,

But in which I can see us being happy.

There might be some scary parts but we can hold each other

And assure that everything will be alright,

In this world that is falling apart,

Because the future is not exactly what we thought it was.

Deep down we’ll wish for those easier days,

When all we did was imagine a light blue sky.
